XCv2 Winners to be Showcased at Connections 2009: Show Me the Apps!
The XCv2 application winners were recently announced and the innovative applications that have been created are no less than astounding. The developer's challenge has proven itself as a powerful incentive in the creation of cutting edge mashups.
The highly anticipated viewing of the winning applications will be showcased next month during the "Show Me the Apps!" session at BroadSoft Connections 2009: Voice & Vision conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The featured winners by category are:
XConsumer Category
The first place winner in the XConsumer Category is designated to make the day-to-day lives of consumers easier to manage is myZazu from WorldxChange Communications/Sulaco Technology. This application provides an online portal to afford the user ease in integrating with social networking sites such as Twitter, combined with the power of Google APIs. It provides a user with various communication methods and allows for customization to suit specific needs. This application can greatly save time and effort when communicating to the masses, for example teachers who would need to update information could do so from anywhere on the internet.
XCool Category
Featured winner in the XCool category, which involved applications that mash up multiple APIs to create new user experiences, is Joseph Farrar of Joe Developer.net. This application is a Visual Voicemail application for Polycom's VVX1500 that transcribes voicemails for business and provides a call back feature via an attached link on the transcription. This app also incorporates the BroadWorks Selective Call Rejection feature for added functionality.
Business Category
In the business category, MobileMax Enterprise Edition tied for first place with Excendia Virtual Assistant.
MobileMax is a FMC/UC client that allows for the integration of BroadWorks features to cellular phones. The MobileMax client is downloaded and installed on a mobile handset and authenticates to the user's account in BroadWorks. The application is compatible with hundreds of models and leading smartphones' OS platforms. Users can access PBX Call Control features such as call conferencing and auto attendant options.
Excendia Virtual Assistant is an application that allows mobile phone users to execute a variety of hands free, eyes free communications. Users can listen and reply to emails, compose email, review and schedule calendar appointments, control phone status and call forwarding. The application addresses the needs of business people who must continue to be productive away from the office by allowing for the safe management of phone and email while driving.
