BroadSoft Named World's No.1 Private Telecom
Company by Light Reading
GAITHERSBURG, MD, September 6, 2007 - BroadSoft, Inc., a
leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that
Light Reading has recognized BroadSoft as the world's No.
1 ranked company on its 2007 "Top Ten Private Companies"
list. Each year, Light Reading, a leading integrated business
media company serving the telecommunications industry, ranks companies
based on advanced and viable technology, talented and motivated
people, and the smart use of financial resources.
"BroadSoft makes VoIP application software that allows carriers
to offer services like IP Centrex for business customers and hosted
residential VoIP for consumers, and it's one of the indisputable
leaders in a field that has reached a certain maturity - it's past
its worst teenage tantrums and blossoming into early adulthood,"
Light Reading editors wrote in announcing BroadSoft as the top
private company.
Light Reading noted additions this year to BroadSoft's executive
team and board of directors, recently announced high-profile partnerships
with Ericsson, Huawei Technologies and BEA Systems, and prominent
customer announcements, such as Netherlands incumbent provider KPN.
This was BroadSoft's third time on Light Reading's Top Ten
Private Companies list, but its first time in the No. 1 spot.
"We are honored by Light Reading's recognition of BroadSoft
as the top private telecom company in the world," said Michael
Tessler, president and CEO of BroadSoft. "Hard work from everyone
at BroadSoft allowed us to reach this pinnacle, which further underscores
our market leadership position and our ongoing commitment to provide
superior solutions to meet the growing demand for innovative VoIP
communications around the world."
Among other recent honors, BroadSoft received the 2007 "Hottest
Management Team" award from the Northern Virginia Technology
Council (NVTC), the largest technology council in the U.S., which
gives the annual award to an entrepreneurial company with exceptional
leadership. In addition, research firm IDC recently named BroadSoft
the global market share leader in VoIP application servers.
