Scott Wharton of BroadSoft named "TOP 100
VOICE" of IP Communications
Wharton Among Honorees in Milestone Issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY
GAITHERSBURG, MD - September 25, 2006 - BroadSoft, Inc.,
a leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced
that Scott Wharton, vice president of marketing, was named one of
the Top 100 Voices of IP Communications by INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
The honor recognizes telecom industry leaders who over the last
decade drove the development and adoption of Voice over Internet
Protocol and IP communications.
Wharton was selected by an editorial committee that reviewed nine
years of INTERNET TELEPHONY's coverage of VoIP to identify the leading
voices and proponents who played an instrumental role in moving
the industry forward. Wharton will be featured in the magazine's
landmark 100th issue in October 2006 that will honor the Top 100
Voices of IP Communications.
"I am honored to be chosen by INTERNET TELEPHONY to be counted
among this select group," said Wharton. "I share this
distinction with the entire BroadSoft® family across the globe
- from product development and service to sales and marketing -
who enable us to continuously expand the possibilities for IP communications.
"At BroadSoft, we believe IP communications will enhance and
enrich people's relationship with the telephone, much the same way
the Internet expanded our relationship with the personal computer,"
Wharton added.
The BroadSoft® IMS-compliant BroadWorks® platform provides
a comprehensive range of VoIP applications, including hosted PBX,
IP Centrex, mobile PBX, business trunking and residential broadband
services fully integrated into a single VoIP application platform.
BroadWorks provides these applications with the reliability, redundancy,
scalability and regulatory capabilities required to deliver carrier-class
service.
"Our committee looked back over the course of the last decade,
and came up with 100 people who we felt should be counted among
the Top 100 Voices," said Rich Tehrani, president and editor-in-chief
for INTERNET TELEPHONY and the TMC® publishing group . "Some
were present at the beginning. Some are newer participants in our
community. Some are developers whose technological innovations still
resonate within the evolving telecom arena. Some are marketers who
developed the messaging that helped propel the industry ahead."
