Swedish Communications Provider, DGC, Chooses BroadSoft VoIP Application
Platform to Deliver 'Business Triple-play' services
Advanced VoIP Applications allow businesses to
generate value from communications infrastructure
GAITHERSBURG, MD. - February 6, 2006 - BroadSoft Inc, the
leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that
Stockholm-based ISP venture DGC, will launch triple-play style communications
services to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in its home
country, Sweden. The range of IP-based services, provided over the
BroadWorks VoIP application platform, will offer SMEs a cost effective
means to deploy communications that to date have been the preserve
of larger businesses.
DGC undertook extensive commercial and technology benchmarking
of VoIP applications before establishing the BroadWorks platform
as the best fit for its market requirements. In a fast-developing
market, the ability to deploy services within a short timeframe
was a key contributory factor to DGC's final decision. BroadWorks
has already undergone a series of internal tests and full functionality
is expected to be in place by mid-February.
The BroadWorks platform enables DGC to deliver flexible communications
capability throughout the enterprise, instantaneously bringing voice,
data and video together at the desktop, providing true enterprise-class
triple-play services to SMEs at economical rates.
Targeting businesses from 5 to 500 end-users, DGC aims to become
the critical communications partner for a category of Swedish businesses
previously excluded from such feature-rich solutions. DGC will initially
offer BroadWorks' hosted PBX application which delivers a complete
suite of enhanced PBX functionality over any IP connection, allowing
businesses to set up different users and groups at will according
to individual communications needs and at a fraction of the current
cost.
"SMEs should look at IP as a means to tip the balance in their
favour, allowing communications to work for them, not against them,"
said Gustaf Karling, Managing Director for DGC Communications. "The
availability of BroadSoft's VoIP application software represents
a chance for Swedish businesses to see communications in a completely
new light. IP telephony allows companies to extract more out of
their data communications investment in the same way that a bigger
enterprise uses it to drive revenue."
"DGC's business triple-play offering opens up feature-rich
functions that enhance business opportunity and replicate efficiency
across the organisation," said Michael Tessler, president and
chief executive officer for BroadSoft. "As a service oriented
business, DGC will deliver VoIP communication services as an integral
part of its growing role as total infrastructure partner for SMEs."
The availability of DGC's first hosted PBX application will be
followed by additional wireless and wireline services offered through
the BroadWorks platform. These may include IP Centrex for traditional
calling features (i.e., call forwarding), Mobile PBX to extend calling
features to wireless devices and Business Trunking to interconnect
customer premise equipment.
