ATX Selects BroadSoft VoIP Application Software to Support VoIP
Deployment
BroadWorks Platform Underpins ATX's VoIP Services
on Mid-Atlantic Network
Gaithersburg, MD, February 22, 2006 - BroadSoft, Inc., the
leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that
ATX Communications, a leading provider of communications technologies,
is using BroadSoft's VoIP application software as the platform to
deliver its high-value ATX CoreFlexSM VoIP service to small and
mid-sized businesses in the Mid-Atlantic region. CoreFlex is an
IP-based business trunking service that enables users to gain nearly
twice the normal bandwidth of a T1 by maximizing the flexibility
and throughput of a customer's access circuit on ATX's MPLS (multiprotocol
label switching) IP network.
"ATX is actively committed to strengthening customers' competitive
advantages by solving problems in three fundamental business areas-infrastructure,
security and productivity," said Lou Sommi, director of Product
Management for ATX. "As the foundation for our VoIP services,
we chose the BroadWorks® platform because it offered an integrated
solution with the ability to deliver multiple services on a single
platform. BroadWorks lets us offer quality VoIP services while improving
the efficiency of our customers' systems and workforces, as well
as enhancing communication both internally and externally. BroadSoft's
professional and knowledgeable support has also been crucial in
bringing our service to market quickly."
"One of ATX's strengths is close collaboration with customers
to understand their requirements and to develop advanced communications
services and solutions based on those needs," said Michael
Tessler, CEO and president of BroadSoft. "With the launch of
the CoreFlex service, ATX is well positioned to expand its technology
offerings to include cost-effective, IP-enabled applications that
help customers leverage the benefits of voice and data convergence."
