iiNet's VoIP Service, Powered by BroadSoft VoIP Application Platform, Attracts over 10,000 Australian Subscribers

Residential VoIP Growth Soars, as iiNet Adds almost 1,000 Subscribers Per Week Since Launch

GAITHERSBURG, MD, and Sydney, November 24, 2005 - BroadSoft, the world's premier provider of VoIP application software, today announced that iiNet Limited (ASX: IIN), Australia's third largest ISP, is signing almost 1,000 subscribers per week to its residential VoIP service, and has surpassed the 10,000 subscriber mark. iiNet launched iinetphone, its VoIP offering, less than three months ago, and is already one of the largest Voice over IP (VoIP) providers in Australia.

"We have the largest customer base of high speed ADSL users in Australia, so it was a natural progression to use some of that bandwidth for VoIP services. The adoption rate of the VoIP service is tremendous, especially as the product has been launched only recently and to just our own customer base," said Greg Bader, chief technology officer, iiNet. "We deployed the BroadWorks VoIP application platform earlier this year as the foundation for iinetphone, and are very pleased with the response and feedback from customers. In November alone, our customers made over one million minutes of VoIP calls."

The iiNet VoIP service, has no monthly rental and is bundled with iiNet's broadband2 and traditional phone services. It is popular with consumers both for its advanced features, call quality and significant cost savings over traditional land lines. iinetphone offers superior call quality over free peer-to-peer VoIP services, and meets regulatory requirements for 1300 and emergency calling. Some of the enhanced features available through iiNet's BroadWorks platform include caller ID, call waiting, three-way calling, and simultaneous ring, where both the home phone and a mobile phone can ring at the same time so the customer never has to miss a call.

"iiNet's success indicates that Australian consumers understand the benefits of a quality VoIP service, and are willing to bundle a leading-edge VoIP offering with their broadband and phone services," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO at BroadSoft. "This success reinforces the validity of iiNet's vision for VoIP and echoes the success other BroadSoft customers have had in different regions of the world."

BroadSoft has a strong presence in Australia, with its AsiaPac headquarters and its Center of Excellence software development group, created by the September 2005 acquisition of CarbonTwelve, in Sydney, and additional sales and support offices in region.
