BROADSOFT LAUNCHES THIRD-PARTY DEVELOPERS PROGRAM
TO SPEED DEPLOYMENT OF NEXT-GENERATION COMMUNICATIONS APPLICATIONS
Globally-Based Companies will Support BroadSoft's Penetration
into New Vertical Markets
GAITHERSBURG, MD, April 1, 2003 -- BroadSoft®
Inc., the leading provider of hosted communications platforms, today
announced the creation of a third-party developers program. The
program will target communications service providers, independent
software vendors, systems integrators and collaboration software
developers to drive application development for BroadSoft's hosted
communications platform, BroadWorks®. BroadSoft's
third-party partners will leverage the BroadWorks platform to build
and deploy customized applications for their customers, other service
providers, and vertical markets, such as legal and hospitality.
The program will utilize existing open standards, such as SIP and
XML, to create these next-generation communications applications.
As part of the program, BroadSoft is collaborating with a globally
diverse group of technology vendors, including Carbon Twelve, Net6,
BullDog TeleWorks, Inc., Holly Australia and DSLi, to develop and
implement advanced and customized solutions for collaboration, presentation
and business-process integration. The new applications will be offered
with BroadSoft's comprehensive solutions for Hosted PBX, IP Centrex,
and Voice VPN.
One third-party developer, Carbon Twelve, has used the BroadWorks
platform to develop miReception, an advanced attendant console
that allows service providers to deliver enhanced call routing to
enterprise customers. Another software developer, BullDog TeleWorks,
is using BroadWorks to provide integrated voice and business-process
solutions to vertical markets such as legal, accounting, consulting
and real estate. BullDog TeleWorks' initial solution integrates
a customized BroadWorks platform with Customer Relationship Management
(CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) features that vastly
improve employee productivity at law firms.
"Previously, the productivity gains achieved through business
process solutions were limited to larger enterprises due to cost.
Now, by integrating specialized business-process solutions with
the communications capabilities of BroadWorks, BullDog TeleWorks
enables small and mid-size professional service firms to afford
sophisticated applications that reduce costs, streamline operations
and actually improve revenue," said Stephen Lovas, CEO of BullDog
TeleWorks.
"The legal profession has unique billing and client interaction
requirements. A communications platform such as BroadWorks, combined
with BullDog's advanced applications, proves invaluable in increasing
efficiency within these organizations," said Jon Jaroker, BullDog
founder and COO.
"By collaborating with third-party developers, BroadSoft is
able to deliver next-generation applications to service providers
and enterprises," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO of
BroadSoft. "Our third-party developers increase our value proposition
by enabling us to target the specific needs of certain markets with
more customized voice solutions. The advanced applications that
these developers produce will propel the adoption of IP voice by
providing additional value that extends far beyond the benefits
of today's traditional solutions."
"Telstra has selected BroadWorks as its IP telephony services
platform of choice because of its flexibility to provide a variety
of applications to different business market segments," said
Ken Lock, general manager, Data Network Solutions, Telstra. "BroadWorks'
openness coupled with the added technology breadth of its third-party
developer partners will allow us to maximize the value we provide
to these customers through next-generation services like voice enabled
directory dialing."
Telstra is Australia's leading telecommunications carrier and a
world-class fully integrated, full service provider across wireline,
ADSL, HFC, satellite and digital wireless networks and platforms.
At the Spring 2003 Voice on the Net (VON) show, BroadSoft will
demonstrate BroadWorks' ability to enable third-party developers,
such as Carbon Twelve, to provide enhanced communications services.
In addition, BroadSoft president and CEO, Michael Tessler, will
be discussing the role of third-party development in accelerating
IP deployment during the "Industry Perspective" program
on Wednesday, April 2 at 2:20 p.m. Partners interested in learning
more about BroadSoft's third-party developers program and viewing
a demonstration are invited to visit booth #313.
