ONVOY DEPLOYS BROADSOFT PLATFORM,
BECOMING THE FIRST IOC TO DELIVER HOSTED COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES

Onvoy Provides Enterprise Customers New Set of Enhanced Voice Features and
Free Voice and Video Calls to Converged IP Network Members

PHOENIX, AZ - BroadSoft Connections Conference, October 27, 2003 -- BroadSoft® Inc., the leading provider of hosted communications platforms, and Onvoy, Minnesota's integrated broadband provider, announced that Onvoy has deployed BroadSoft's BroadWorks® platform establishing the privately-held regional provider in the hosted communications services market. Onvoy is using BroadWorks to deliver a comprehensive set of advanced voice features to Minnesota based businesses.

With a statewide, private, converged IP network branded as the Onvoy Community Network, Onvoy delivers quality and reliable IP services including local and long distance voice, videoconferencing, Internet access and private data networks. With BroadWorks, Onvoy has extended its service offerings to include a wide spectrum of business voice features, such as remote office, simultaneous ringing and voice messaging via email. Onvoy is targeting both single and multi-site businesses in Minnesota with flat monthly fees, allowing for free voice and video calls to all other Onvoy Community Network members.

"Onvoy is committed to providing Minnesota-based companies with more telecommunications services and savings," said Janice Aune, president and CEO, Onvoy. "Onvoy's enterprise customers enjoy reduced network expenses, but with the addition of BroadWorks, they can also minimize spending on premises-based hardware and maintenance costs. No other carrier in the state can touch our compelling converged offering plus hosted communications services."

"As one of the largest privately-owned providers in Minnesota with over 15 years in business, Onvoy is proving its leadership position in a new era of hosted enterprise services," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO, BroadSoft. "Onvoy is showing how other providers can offer innovative services to generate higher average revenue per user (ARPU) with their customer base."

BroadSoft's BroadWorks provides a comprehensive range of applications including Hosted PBX, IP Centrex, Voice VPN, and the latest in collaborative conferencing functionality fully integrated into a single hosted communications platform. BroadWorks is uniquely capable of providing these applications with the reliability, redundancy, scalability, and regulatory capabilities required to deliver carrier-class service.
BroadWorks allows service providers to increase revenues by offering enhanced services to enterprise customers from a single application. BroadWorks also reduces operational expenditures by empowering enterprises to manage their own moves, adds, changes and conference calls via the patented CommPilot™ web portal. The open, standards-based environment of BroadWorks provides maximum flexibility for service providers to customize their offering.

This release was announced at the BroadSoft Connections 2003 conference, the first customer conference for hosted voice service providers from around the world. For more information about this conference and other company announcements released today, please visit www.broadsoft.com.
