BROADSOFT'S BROADWORKS RECEIVES 'PRODUCT OF THE YEAR'
AWARD FROM LEADING INDUSTRY MAGAZINE, INTERNET TELEPHONY
Award Recognizes BroadSoft's Vision, Leadership and Technologic
Innovation
GAITHERSBURG, MD, January 14, 2002 BroadSoft,
Inc., the leader in service delivery systems and voice applications,
today announced that its flagship product, BroadWorks, has
been honored with INTERNET TELEPHONY® Magazine's prestigious
'Product of the Year' award in the category of service creation.
The premier publication in the rapidly growing IP telephony industry,
Technology Marketing Corporation's Internet Telephony,
annually recognizes the hard work and innovation of the companies
that have been instrumental in the continued growth of the IP
telephony industry.
BroadSoft was selected to receive this honor by the publication's
editors who reviewed more than 150 applications before selecting
the companies that they view as demonstrating the vision, leadership
and attention to detail that are the hallmarks of 'Product of
the Year' award winners. Past 'product of the year' winners include
such industry leaders as Alcatel, 3Com, and Siemens. The list
of this year's winners is featured in the January 2002 issue of
Internet Telephony.
"BroadSoft's BroadWorks is a clear leader in the service creation
sector of the IP telephony industry. We're proud to recognize
BroadSoft's hard work and innovation with a Product of the Year
Award for 2001," said Greg Galitzine, Editorial Director of Internet
Telephony. "The Product of the Year award is designed to honor
innovative products and services that have made a positive impact
on the industry and BroadSoft's recent customer wins are a testament
to the company's continued market acceptance."
BroadSoft's BroadWorks is the industry's first complete service
delivery system that enables service providers to offer a rich
set of web-enabled user-friendly enhanced telephony services.
BroadWorks' highly scalable, flexible architecture and capabilities
provide comprehensive packet-based telephony applications including
small-medium sized enterprise (SME) Centrex services, enterprise
networking and private branch exchange (PBX) replacement. It cuts
across circuit and packet technologies, allowing service providers
to roll out packet-based telephony services with incremental investment
to their network infrastructure. In addition to the comprehensive
set of services, BroadWorks also offers web-based enterprise and
service providers administration features. It also integrates
with key business tools such as Microsoft Outlook. Capabilities
and services can be customized and managed via BroadWorks' web-based
portal, CommPilot, which provides an alternative user interface
for enhanced services, replacing the flash-hook and star codes
of a standard phone.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this recognition from
Internet Telephony as it validates BroadSoft's industry
leadership," said Scott Wharton, vice president of marketing
for BroadSoft. "This award acknowledges the hard work and
pioneering efforts that BroadSoft has maintained since its inception.
We remain committed to delivering the enhanced voice services
that the market demands."
