BROADSOFT AND EVEREST BROADBAND NETWORKS ANNOUNCE CONTRACT FOR DEPLOYMENT OF BROADWORKS-ENABLED ENHANCED VOICE SERVICES

Everest will use BroadSoft's Industry-Leading BroadWorks™ to Deliver Unique, Customized Packet-Based Services to the Small to Medium-Sized Enterprise Market

Gaithersburg, MD and Fort Lee, New Jersey, March 25, 2002 - BroadSoft, Inc., the leader in voice applications and servers, and Everest Broadband Networks, a Metropolitan Broadband Services Provider serving businesses in North America, today announced that Everest has signed a contract to use BroadSoft's BroadWorks to add voice services to its portfolio of enhanced services. Everest plans to begin rolling out BroadWorks-based voice services in Q2 2002.

"We selected BroadSoft because of BroadWorks' proven record as the best platform for providing enhanced IP Centrex services," said Jeff Feldman, President and CEO, Everest. "Our relationship with BroadSoft enables Everest to drive forward with a facility-based IP voice service without the need to rely on traditional local loops. This capability furthers our commitment to meeting the communications needs of business users who demand innovative and customizable enhanced services."

Everest Broadband Networks is a long term survivor in today's telecommunications market, simplifying communications for small to mid-sized businesses by providing tenants in commercial buildings with high-speed Internet access, local and long-distance telephone service, broadband applications such as IP based access to Video Conferencing, Virtual Private Networking, Managed Security, Messaging, Web Conferencing, Web hosting and network integration consulting and engineering services.

Everest delivers these services over a state-of-the-art Metropolitan Ethernet service architecture. With BroadWorks, Everest will be able to converge local voice and long distance services over IP and offer its more than 1,000 commercial customers nationwide IP Centrex services with an extensive set of web-enabled enhanced telephony services including area wide Centrex with free on-net calling, conferencing, call forwarding, caller ID, voice mail, follow-me-anywhere calling, auto attendant and a host of enhanced IP voice services.

"We are pleased that Everest has chosen our industry-leading set of voice applications and servers to deliver innovative telephony solutions and value-added services to its customers," said Michael Tessler, President and CEO, BroadSoft. "We are confident that BroadWorks will play a vital role in helping Everest meet the market demand for enhanced and easily managed business services."

BroadWorks is the industry's first complete set of integrated voice applications and servers designed to enable service providers to deliver basic and enhanced voice services to enterprises of any size. The BroadWorks product family provides support for media-oriented applications such as voice mail, conferencing, and auto attendant as well as personal calling functions such as selective call forwarding and notification, call transfer, and simultaneous ringing. In addition to the comprehensive set of services, BroadWorks empowers service providers and enterprise administrators with the ability to use the web to conduct administrative functions via BroadWorks' web-based portal, CommPilot. CommPilot provides an alternative user interface for enhanced services, replacing the cumbersome flash-hook and star codes of a standard phone. For administration, patent-pending CommPilot provides multiple tiers of intuitive, easy-to-use web interfaces that simplify configuration and management of services for the end-user, group administrator, and service provider. Last year, BroadSoft announced contracts with five service provider customers who are currently deploying BroadWorks-based services to their enterprise customers.
