BROADSOFT HONORED WITH PRODUCT OF THE YEAR AWARD
Communications Solutions Recognizes BroadSoft's Leadership in
Enhanced Services
GAITHERSBURG, MD, January 22, 2001 BroadSoft,
Inc., the leading provider of service delivery systems for next-generation
telephony services, announced today that its BroadWorks
service delivery system has been awarded Product of the Year in
the category of Next Generation Networks and Services/Enhanced
Services by Communications Solutions, a leading communications
industry publication. The annual award is designed to honor innovative
products and services that have advanced the convergence of voice
and data during the previous year.
BroadSoft was the first to announce a comprehensive enhanced delivery
system of packet-based business services. Its flagship product,
BroadWorks, enables service providers to rapidly enter new markets
and immediately generate new revenues with easy-to-use, differentiated
local exchange services over packet-based networks as well as
the traditional public switched telephone network (PSTN). BroadWorks
includes a rich set of business options such as call waiting,
voice mail, conferencing, auto-attendant and follow-me-anywhere
services, and can interoperate with other network elements and
business applications for a comprehensive set of integrated services
without lengthy and expensive proprietary development.
"As the industry matures, we're finding more than just products
and services within the market -- entire solutions are being offered,"
said TMC president and group publisher Rich Tehrani. "Communications
Solutions magazine initiated the Product of the Year award program
to help our readers sort through the vast proliferation of new
products and services in the marketplace. The Product of the Year
award, selected by the editors of Communications Solutions and
the engineers of TMC Labs is given to those select products,
such as BroadWorks by BroadSoft, that deserve the attention of
forward-thinking organizations looking for best-of-breed solutions.
We are pleased to honor the Product of the Year winners today,
as they lay the groundwork for the next generation of communications
solutions."
"We're very honored to be recognized by Communications Solutions
for the innovation of our flagship product, BroadWorks," said
Michael Tessler, President and CEO of BroadSoft. "BroadWorks helps
service providers in two critical ways: it helps them generate
new revenues with the delivery of enhanced, easy-to-use telephony
services to their customers, and it lowers their operational costs
by both reducing customer churn - which lowers the cost of sale
- as well as easily integrating into their existing OSS and support
infrastructure. This award further validates that BroadSoft is
advancing the convergence of voice and data services."
BroadSoft will be demonstrating BroadWorks in its booth (#374)
at ComNet 2001, which is being held from January 30-February 1
at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
