TalkingNets Offering Innovative, Personalized Telephony Services
in Denver and Washington, DC Markets Using BroadWorks
ATLANTA, GA, June 6, 2001 BroadSoft, Inc., the
leading provider of service delivery systems for packet-based
voice and telephony services, announced that it has signed a contract
with TalkingNets, the first telephony application service provider
(ASP), to supply BroadWorks for TalkingNets' deployment
of enhanced telephony services. TalkingNets has deployed BroadWorks,
BroadSoft's flagship product, in Denver and Washington, DC. With
BroadWorks, TalkingNets can enable service providers with data
networks to offer their customers a wide range of enhanced voice
services.
"By deploying BroadWorks and its comprehensive suite of packet-based
telephony services, TalkingNets is demonstrating its commitment
to offering a wide range of easy-to-use services to the enterprise
market," said Diane Myers, Program Manager at Stratecast Partners.
"It is a very positive and important milestone for both companies,
and we expect other service providers to follow TalkingNets' lead
in evaluating BroadWorks as a highly cost-effective platform for
expanding into new markets."
TalkingNets is using BroadWorks because it is the industry's first
complete carrier-class service delivery and creation system that
enables providers to offer a rich set of user-friendly enhanced
telephony services without the substantial capital expenses associated
with traditional voice networks. Among BroadWorks' services are
media-oriented applications such as conferencing, voice mail,
auto-attendant and other interactive voice response (IVR) applications,
as well as personal calling functions such as selective call forwarding
and notification, call transfer, and dial-by-name.
For example, BroadWorks enables individuals to forward selected
calls to any phone simply by logging into their own personal Web
page or to automatically make calls by clicking onto any phone
number listed in their computer's personal management database.
"Because it supports a whole new type of carrier-class telephony
service and service delivery, BroadSoft enables us to provide
our channel partners with a cost-effective, next-generation telephony
service that allows them to effectively compete with incumbent
providers," said John Philips, president and CEO of TalkingNets.
"The commercial deployment of BroadWorks highlights our continued
commitment to providing our customers with a competitive edge
in the ever-changing service provider market."
Using BroadSoft's products, TalkingNets' service provider channel
partners can dramatically reduce the time-to-market for customized,
packet-based voice services to the small and medium-sized enterprise
market. By tailoring services for specific vertical industries,
for example real estate or accounting -- or even individual customers
-- TalkingNets' channel partners can increase customer satisfaction
and reduce churn. By leveraging the BroadWorks platform, TalkingNets
enables service providers to gain unprecedented flexibility and
lower costs as they strive to offer innovative, customized, enhanced
services to their business customers.
"With the current economic conditions, service providers recognize
the pressing need to reduce the capital expenditures that have
been associated with network expansion," said Michael Tessler,
founder, president and CEO of BroadSoft. "With the deployment
of BroadWorks, TalkingNets is leading the industry by enabling
service providers to quickly and cost-effectively deploy enhanced
telephony services to grow their revenues by expanding their markets."
TalkingNets provides a wholesale telephony service that enables
broadband service providers and system integrators to offer advanced
voice services to their small and medium-sized business customers
without having to invest in deploying their own voice networks.
TalkingNets is one of the first application service providers
to incorporate this leading technology into its network, taking
the concept of "next-generation" network to the next level by
using server-based, not hardware-based, technology to support
its telephony services.
